Thus, mobilising and securing sustained funding poses a central question. With a rapidly growing digital health and care market, methods and models to finance the development of digital health and care innovations are also evolving and include design, development, testing, evaluating, licensing, market analysis and business case preparation. In order to secure access to finance in the long-term to support innovation pipelines – strategic frameworks are needed to identify care delivery shortcomings, appropriate funding sources and mechanisms for seeking appropriate partners from industry, health and care sector and academia. Therefore, this DHE building block aims to advice financial decision-makers on funding sources and financial models, particularly focusing on EU funding instruments.
