Patient portal

There are two major concepts of patient portals. The health care-centered patient portals are national health care-related online applications that allow access to all or part of an electronic medical record (EMR) and personal health information (health record, test results, prescriptions). They are typically owned and administered by national/regional health care institutions, authorities and bodies. Health information portals provide general, non-personalized medical information on medications, treatments, illness, or chronic conditions, and inform patients about various health care or medical topics (DHE definition).
