On 4 December 2019, DigitalHealthEurope will conduct the workshop “Improving Availability and Use of Secondary Health Data” at the EHTEL 2019 Symposium in Barcelona “Imagine 2029: Our data, our health, our care”.
Organised by DHE Partner EHTEL, the European eHealth Multidisciplinary Stakeholder Platform, and hosted by TicSalutSocial, the governmental Health IT organisation of Catalan health and social care, the Symposium will convene digital experts from everywhere in Europe and from every stakeholder group involved in digital transformation of health and care.
Inspired by the DigiCare communication COM(2018)233 on enabling the digital transformation of health and care in the Digital Single Market, empowering citizens and building a healthier society, the workshop will focus on exploring secondary data use for improving health and care.
On behalf of empirica, DigitalHealthEurope project leader, Strahil Birov will present the goals and expected outcomes of the project. Oliver Zobell from the Research Centre Jülich will present How to Support Secondary Uses of Health Data which will convey the preliminary findings of the work developed through the collaboration platform on “Better data to promote research, disease prevention and personalised health and care” and led by EuroRec. This collaboration platform responds to the second priority of the DigitCare communication to support secondary uses of health data in clinical practice and research. Participation will be encouraged during the workshop through three driving questions that will ignite further discussions with the audience.
