Twinnings in DigitalHealthEurope

DigitalHealthEurope is funding a twinning scheme that supports the Digital Single Market's three priorities for the Digital Health and Care Innovation initiative:

  • citizens’ secure access to and sharing of health data across borders
  • better data to advance research, disease prevention and personalised health and care
  • digital tools for citizen empowerment and person-centred care

More than 45 twinnings opportunities – between more than 90 organisations – will be organised. Funding will be provided to carry out twinning activities. The activities will take place between September 2019-August 2020. You can get involved here.

Twinning timeline

The DHE Call for Twinnings is open between 14 June and 7 August, 2019. The tender documents explain the twinning scheme rules, conditions, and application process. Supporting templates enable an efficient application procedure.

Participation in the twinnings is open to regional government bodies and health and care providers, or organisations that have an established contractual or other legal link to those bodies/providers. (Examples include having signed a multi-annual contract agreement or working as part of a formalised “quadruple helix” approach.)

The twinning applications are planned to be evaluated in August 2019. Notifications of award of twinning actions will be sent towards the end of August. Twinning implementation is expected to take place between September 2019 and August 2020.

How to get involved

The first important step towards applying for twinning in DigitalHealthEurope is to find suitable twinning partnerships. Head to the DigitalHealthEurope Twinning Marketplace to look for twinning originators with offers that interest you, or post your own offer as an originator. Get in touch with partners and start planning your twinning together!

The DigitalHealthEurope Twinning team hosted webinars for potential applicants in June 2019. You can view recordings of the webinars here.
